About Mrs Colette Silva
Mrs Silva received a Bachelor of Education degree in Foundation Phase and Early Childhood Development from UNISA and joined the St Catherine’s family in 2015.
Mrs Silva has a passion for Choirs and Music. She sang in the Colla Voce Provincial Youth Choir for 5 years as a first soprano and holds a Grade 7 Vocal certificate and Grade 6 Piano and Theory certificate from Trinity Schools, London.
Mrs Silva has experience in teaching pupils with learning barriers and understands the needs of remedial pupils and parents.
Mrs Silva believes that teachers hold the power to make a difference in the life of every pupil who passes through their classroom and should be held responsible for how they make those pupils feel when they leave the classroom. This resonates with her favourite quote, which is “With great power comes great responsibility” (Spiderman).
