About Mrs Linda van Vreden

Mrs van Vreden received an Honours degree for Sport Science from NWU-PUK. She worked as a personal trainer and sport scientist before she started teaching in 2010, and joined St Catherine’s in July 2019.

Mrs van Vreden is passionate about sport and fitness. She is a javelin thrower and still competes at the top level in South Africa. She is currently the SA record holder in javelin in the age group 30-34.

Teaching is a valuable part of each person’s life and her aim is to have a positive influence on the pupils’ perception on life. She aspires to help all pupils realize their true potential and work for their dreams, in order to be proud of who they are.

Her favourite quote comes from Muhammed Ali, a famous boxer, “Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men, who find it easier to live in a world they have been given, rather than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is just an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it’s a dare. Impossible is NOTHING!”
