About Mrs Marie-Louise Louw

Mrs Louw received her professional qualification (BA Ed) from RAU in 1984. She has many years of teaching and management experience. Mrs Louw joined our school in January 2019.

Mrs Louw is currently HOD of Official Languages and History. As HOD, she believes that a great teacher is enthusiastic about their profession and will encourage pupils to share the same passion. She currently teaches English Home Language to Grades 9 and 11. Her passion is to inspire and interact with her pupils to enjoy English as a subject, allowing them to experience a world of expression and creativity. Apart from her teaching role, she is in charge of the cultural activities at school and is a coach of Public Speaking. Mrs Louw’s favourite quote is “Happiness isn’t getting what you want all the time. It’s about loving what you have and being grateful for it.”

An interesting fact that not many people know about Mrs Louw is that she was the Gauteng Internal Moderator for English Home Language Paper 1 from 2015-2017. She is also the author of the Grade 8 and Grade 9 Afrikaans FAL ‘ACE IT’ Study Aids and has written a number of study guides for Grade 11 & 12 Afrikaans FAL (Department of Education) setworks.

Mrs Louw also played provincial netball for many years, but now in her spare time plays the keyboard in her church band and enjoys oil painting of landscapes, seascapes and wildlife.
