Dear Parents and Guardians
I have listened to the media briefing presented by the Deputy Minister of Education and her officials with regard to the re-opening of schools for the new academic year. Unfortunately, the comments dealing with independent schools were somewhat ambiguous and we are awaiting further clarification from I.S.A.S.A. before we finalise our arrangements for the next few weeks.
However, the following must please be noted:
- We hope to finalise arrangements for the next week or two during the course of the weekend, once we have had feedback from I.S.A.S.A. and input from the Board of Governors. In the interim it remains “business as usual” and school will be in session on Monday, 18th January.
- A further newsletter will be sent out to our school community on Monday which will provide details of the arrangements for the weeks up to the end of January.
- In the meanwhile, we are ensuring that all our pupils (from Pre-school to Grade 12) either re-activate their Google accounts or are registered on the Google platform. We are doing this in anticipation of returning to on-line teaching and learning for a short period of time.
- You are reminded that all protocols that are in place for the non-pharmaceutical prevention of Covid-19 remain in place and must be strictly adhered to. Please ensure that pupils do not attend social events over weekends and after school so that we can promote a safe school environment.
I extend my apologies to our school community for the inconvenience and uncertainty which has been caused. I wish to assure you that we will provide clarity at the earliest possible opportunity.
Yours faithfully
Mr D.I. Maritz
Head of School
