Dear Parents and Guardians
I hope that you have had a pleasant half-term and that you made the most of the time spent with your children. We have three weeks of school ahead of us before the winter holidays and a respite we are all looking forward to enjoying.
I write this morning to inform you that, over the course of the weekend, we were made aware that two of our pupils have undergone testing and are positive with the COVID-19 virus. Both pupils are doing well and have not displayed any severe symptoms or been seriously ill. In both cases, the children were kept home prior to being tested and neither has been at school for the past week. Parents have been informed to keep the youngsters in quarantine for the next two weeks and only allow them to return to school on 17th July.
We have followed our COVID-19 protocol very closely and have informed the N.I.C.D of the situation. They have given their full approval of the measures we have taken. Over the past week the school has been regularly and thoroughly sanitised and all social distancing protocols have been strictly enforced. As the affected children have not been at school for at least a week, we believe that the risk of infection for others is minimal.
I wish to assure you that we are monitoring the situation and that we will keep you updated of any further developments.
Yours faithfully
Mr D.I. Maritz
Head of School
